Massena-A funeral Mass for J. Maurice Deshaies, 71 will be said Wednesday at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. J. Michael Gaffney, pastor officiating. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Deshaies died Thursday at Massena Memorial Hospital. Calling hours at Donaldson Funeral Home on Tuesday.
Mr. Deshaies served in the Army and after discharge, worked for Fisher Inc. Rochester and then returned to Massena and was a janitor for Massena Central School.
Born June 16, 1935, in Massena, son of Telesphore and Irene LaRiviere Deshaies, he attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Massena High School.
He married Eelyn Martin on July 22, 1967, at St. Mary's Church, She died Aug., 22, 1987.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Edward and Jackuelin, and Charles, all of Broken Arrow, Ok., and Norman and Debra, Chase Mills; a sister Yvette and Vern Peets, Syracuse; two brothers, Roger and Bobby, Hopewell, Va., and Jackues and Pearl, Kirkville, three grandchildren.
A sister, M. Jean Lauber, and two brothers, Roland and Robert "Pete", died before him.
