William Louis Moore was the only son born to his father, Stephen Louis Moore I (who died in the Civil War in 1864), and to his mother, Nancy J. Holbrook. After Stephen was killed Nancy married M.H.McCuistion in 1866. William Moore was raised in the McCuistion family, a very respected family in Paris, TX. William (Will) married Margaret "Maggie" (Robinson) Jack, a widow, on November 15, 1887. Stephen Louis Moore II was born in 1888; his half-sister was Lida Jack Turner, b. 1883. William and Maggie divorced in the late 1890's and William moved to Corsicana, TX, and married again. He died in 1908. His son never spoke about William. Lida Jack Turner's daughter was told William was highly respected at the time of marriage to Maggie, however, his later habits (alcohol and gambling, etc.) disrupted their marriage.
Little was known of Will's later life after divorce from Maggie, but he lived in Navarro Co., Corsicana, TX in 1900 census record. Information on his death certificate led descendants to find his grave in Terrell, Texas.
