MILLERSBURG -- Beatrice "Bea" (Mace) Chaney died June 17, 2015, in the same manner that she had lived every day of her life -- fighting until the very end.

Not many have met a more stubborn woman. Even in the face of sheer defeat, she would not back down. She previously defeated cancer and heart disease, but this time, her mortal body could not keep up with her fighting spirit. As her soul departs for those heavenly, pearly gates, one can only imagine her endlessly debating with the Angels in her new eternal home.

She leaves behind a legacy of family devotion, charitable giving, and spiritual living.

Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of more than 65 years, James Howard Chaney, who held her hand since she was 16 years old until the very end. Her loss is also felt by children, Daniel Howard Chaney, Debora Jean Wade (Chaney), June Marie Chaney, and Susie Chaney; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and the many people on the receiving end of her abundant generosity and cookies.

She is reunited, and likely arguing with, her parents, Alfie Augustus and Bertha Mae Mace; brothers, William Penn Mace and Harry Mace; and sisters, Roberta Cool, Leontine Thompson, Flossie Taylor, and Florence Roach.

While Bea did not want a fuss over her leaving this world, her family will not be honoring her initial wish to just throw her body away in a Dumpster. A short graveside service will be in Killbuck Cemetery Friday, June 19 at 4 p.m. Afterward, all of Bea's many family and friends, or as many as will fit in a single building, are invited to a celebration of her life open house at Killbuck Valley Christian Church, 10504 County Road 620, Killbuck, from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, which Bea would not want anyone to spend money on anyway, donations should be made to LifeCare Hospice, Wooster; or Killbuck Valley Christian Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

We will miss you, Bea! Bye Grandma, Anastasia.
