1932 - 2012
Brenda Joyce Music Gilbert, age 79 of Fairborn, OH., loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend went home to heaven on February 18, 2012, after a short illness.
She was born December 16, 1932, in Auxier, KY., the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Rice Music.
Brenda met and married her love, John Talmadge Gilbert on December 22, 1951. They shared 60 amazing years together
raising five children and making their home in places from Puerto Rico to Alaska. Brenda or "Blue Eyes" as she was lovingly called by her family, touched many people and built friendships that she treasured throughout her life.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, as well as six brothers and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her husband John of Fairborn,; her children, John and Kathy Gilbert of Monticello, IN., Mike and Lisa Gilbert of Monticello, IN., Tamara and Mike Duncan of Dayton, OH., Vana and Tim D'Aurora of Fairborn, OH, Tim and Carol Gilbert of Dayton, OH., 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and many honorary grandchildren who gave her so much joy. They loved their "Mamoo" and will miss her greatly. She also leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Judy Music of Auxier, KY., her sister, Billie Irene Kruchko of Cass City, MI., brother-in-law, James T. Craft of Casey, IL., as well as many nieces, nephews, and very close friends.
Brenda's endless kindness, encouragement, patience, and love left a priceless legacy for all of us who were fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. February 23, 2012, in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Scott VanDyke
officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. February 24, 2012, in the Music Family Cemetery, Auxier, KY.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
