David Philip Loving
David Philip Loving, 62, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Sioux Valley Hospital.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating.
Mass of Christian burial was Tuesday at St. Michael Church in Sioux Falls, with the Rev Charles Cimpl officiating.
Mr. Loving was born Oct. 31, 1942, in Fairfield, the son of Philip and Mary Loving. He married Rita Mougin.
He was executive director of Children’s Home Society for 17 years until he retired. He had previously served as associate superintendent for the Iowa Training School for Boys, the superintendent for the Iowa State Juvenile Home, the superintendent for the State Mental Health Institute and Medium Security Correctional Facility in Mount Pleasant, the superintendent for the State Mental Health Institute and Medium Security Prison in Clarinda.
Survivors include his wife of Sioux Falls; two daughters, Mandy Moses and her husband Mark of Des Moines and Becky Gregory and husband Chris of Omaha, Neb.; two sons, Philip Loving and wife Lisa of Sioux Falls and Luke Loving of Sioux Falls; three brothers, Steve Loving of Minneapolis, Minn., Mark Loving of Indiana and Pete Loving of Yankton, S.D.; two sisters, Diane Thompson of Mount Pleasant and Jean Ann Nelson of Waukegan, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
