Mrs. Luke Warren, for 33 years a resident of DeKalb county, died at their home on East High street on Wednesday afternoon from a general breaking down due to extreme age. She had been confined to her bed only since Christmas.
Ursula Foster was born in Byron, N.Y., on August 17, 1822. She was one of 11 children, six sisters and five brothers.
She was married to Luke A. Warren in 1841. They lived on a farm in New York until 1859, when they moved to Illinois, settling on a farm in Whiteside county. Seven years later Mr. and Mrs. Warren moved to Monroe township in Ogle county where they purchased a farm and lived until 1871, when they moved to DeKalb county, settling on a farm in DeKalb township. After living there for 11 years they moved to Sycamore, as Mr. Warren's health would not permit of his carrying on the labors of the farm. They have lived here ever since.
Mrs. Warren was the mother of eight children, seven of whom are living. They are: William, Missoula, Mont.; Mrs. J. E. Southworth, Santa Clara, Cal.; Mrs. Sarah Ritz, Cortland, Ill.; Mrs. William Campbell, Lansing, Mich.; M. F. Warren, Colorado Springs, Colo.; John Warren, San Antonio, Tex., and George O. Warren, Sycamore.
The funeral will be held today, Saturday, at 1 o'clock from the home, Rev. R. W. Bell, officiating. The interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
