50, of Paramus, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Séan worked as the Communications Coordinator for the Paramus Police Department and was an Ex-Chief and current member of the Paramus Volunteer Fire Department, Co #2 for over 30 years. Séan also volunteered as the Communications Officer for The Office of Emergency Management for the Borough of Paramus.
Cherished husband of 26 years to Corinne Benson (nee Niland). Loving father of Sean Benson, Jr., Erin Benson and Cory Benson. Treasured son of Eileen Benson (nee Krumm) and the late Robert Emmett Benson of Paramus. Dear brother of Kathy Tass and her husband John of Lake Hiawatha and Maureen DiPaolo and her husband Joe of Dumont. Sean is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Colleen Benson in 1989.
Family will receive friends on Sunday September 27, 2015 from 7PM - 9PM and Monday September 28, 2015 from 2PM-4PM and 7PM - 9PM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral Mass will be held at 11AM on Tuesday September 29, 2015 at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, Paramus. Interment George Washington Memorial Park.
