Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Mille Rieger passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT at the age of 95.

Emilie Singer was born November 6, 1919 to Karl and Margaretha (Stuber) Singer in Dodge, North Dakota. She attended a country school near Dodge until her family moved to a farm near Fairview, MT. At the young age of 16, Millie was diagnosed with polio and had to learn to walk all over again. It was during this difficult time that Millie gained the strength to work hard, never give up and never complain. On March 26, 1940 Millie married the absolute love of her life Edwin Rieger. To this union seven children were born: Ron, Sharon, Donald, Thomas, Roy, Maralee, and Tanya. Together they raised their children on the ranch on O’Fallon Creek near Ismay, Montana. She loved baking, gardening, family get-togethers, dancing, watching baseball and listening to country gospel music. Millie’s home was always open where kuchen, caramel rolls, card playing and good times created many cherished memories. Millie was a member of the Emanuel Evangelical Free Church, Ladies Aid, Fallon Creek Cowbelles, Home Demonstration Club, Plevna and Bridger Senior Citizens and was a 4-H leader and cooked many years for Plevna’s school. Mom’s excitement and enthusiasm for life never ceased and was displayed at age 90 when she rode the zip line at the Rieger Reunion. In 2005, Millie moved to Bridger where she made her home for five years. During this time, she enjoyed church, Senior Citizens, and Bridger’s sports. In 2009 Millie returned back to Fallon County to be closer to the home she loved and sincerely enjoyed her time spent with family and friends at the Parkview Complex. In 2013 due to medical reasons she moved into the Fallon Medical Long Term Care where she relished having her family and friends come visit. She never lost her love for the ranch life and the enjoyment of a newborn calf or a garden of flowers. Millie’s greatest love was her faith and family.

Millie is survived by her children; Ron Rieger, of Manhatten MT; Sharon (Bill) Ware of Mesa, AZ; Donald (Eileen) Rieger of Ismay MT; Thomas (Jackie) Rieger of Billings MT; Roy (Berdie Wulff) Rieger of Baker MT; Maralee (Bart) Burdick of Baker MT; Tanya (Brad) Dorvall of Bridger MT; 16 grandchildren, Rhonda (Tony) Bennett, Shawna (Dustin) Matovich, Sarah Rieger, Kim (Jason) Yarger, Kerry (Brian) Hughes, Lynn (Al) Paul, Lisa Rieger, Leighton Rieger, Paul (Akvalina) Rieger, Tandeen (Chad) Schwend, Jodi (Paul) Ridenhower, Cody (Andrea) Rieger, Scott (Josi) Rieger, Quentin (Lisa) Burdick, Danny Dorvall, Leann (Bryce) Vigil; and 22 great-grandchildren, Emilie, Gavin, Sheyenne, Brienna, Quinn, Jessica, Jenna, Jaeda, Jordan, Sophia, Savannah, Gavin, Gabrielle, Casey, Sage, Tylee, Turk, Emory, Link, Halle, Emily, and Ashlee.
