He married Flora M. who was born in Tennessee in 1886. Her parents were from West Virginia.
They married and by the 1920s, adopted two children and were living at 2638 Valdez St. Oakland Township, where he was chairman of the surveying business. The couple had moved to Oakland Township between 1910 and 1920.
Adopted Son Robert R. Patten birth in 1906, in Kansas(Robert's parent were born in Ill.) and his sister Mary (also adopted) by George and Flora. Robert continued to live with his parents and worked as a bank clerk at the local Oakland bank in the 1930s as well as Mary(Robert's sister).
George's sister Fern moved to the area with her family and his niece was born in California. The relatives remained there just as George and his family lived and passed on in Oakland, California.
He died in Almeda County passing into eternity. His brothers, wife Flora and adopted children were his survivorship.
