Guy Howard Mathews, 59, of 1624 Lakewood Drive, died Tuesday. He was a native of Tennessee but had lived most of his life in Birmingham. He was a mason and had retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Co. He was in the merchant marine during World War II. Funeral was today at Elmwood Chapel, with burial in Elmwood. Survivors include three daughters, Cherie Tucker, Dora, Ellen Manire, Durham, N.C., and Julia Debardelaben, Wetumpka, and a son. Guy E. Mathews, Dora.
