Rhoden – Iva Dell Rhoden, age 87, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on January 2, 2016 at W. Frank Wells Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Macclenny, Florida on June 2, 1928 to the late Barney Jackson “B.J.” Padgett and Ida Mae Corbitt Padgett. Iva Dell graduated from Baker County High School in 1945 earning the high honor of being their Valedictorian. Shortly after school, Iva Dell married the love of her life, Harold Rhoden. Together they happily raised their son, Randall Rhoden, while residing in Macclenny. Iva Dell was a very simple, private woman who loved all her family. She enjoyed her longtime career as the Head Bookkeeper at Citizen’s Bank where she served for over 30 years until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed her privacy and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Rhoden; her son, Randall S. Rhoden; her brothers, Stanley and Harlan Padgett; and her sisters, Mary Estelle Ferry and Frances Dronet.
Iva Dell is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Judy Rhoden of Macclenny, FL; her sister, Selene (Billy) Mikell of Savannah, GA; her brother, Alan Padgett of Lakeland, FL; her grandchildren, David (Kimberly) Rhoden and Brandi Rhoden both of Macclenny, FL; her great grandchildren, Hunter and Haley Rhoden; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Iva Dell’s life was held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery with Mr. Mike Combs officiating. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V. TODD FERREIRA FUNERAL SERVICES, 250 North Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063 (904)259-5700.
