Alex Kush, 91, of Media and formerly of Sharon passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, February 28, 2016 in the Veterans Affairs Hospice Hospital, Coatesville.

He was born July 21, 1924 in Windber to Alexander and Mary Malenda Kush.

Alex attended Windber High School.

He served his Country in the European Theatre of World War II as a Private First Class in Company B, 85th Mountain Regiment, 10th Mountain Division.

Alex retired from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation and moved to Jacksonville, Florida.

In 2002, he returned to Pennsylvania to spend time with his grandchildren and family.

Alex's retirement was filled with things he loved like gardening, fishing, boating, square dancing, and ballroom dancing.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Polish Club, and the Moose.

In addition to his parents, Alex was preceded in death by his sisters: Sophie Virostick, Mary Styduhar, Ann Cartica, and Evelyn Troup; and, his brothers: George Kush, August Kush, and Anthony Kush.

He is survived by his daughters: Bernadette (Rod) Allen of West Middlesex and Annette Turnbull of Media; his granddaughter: Stephanie Turnbull of Media; his grandsons: Robert Turnbull of Media and Joseph Turnbull of Media; his sister: Frances Rotell of West Virginia; and, his brothers: Thomas Kush of California, Frank Kush of Arizona, Michael (Pauline) Kush of Florida, Stanley Kush of Arizona, Joseph (Mary Lou) Kush of Arizona, and Stephen (JoAnna) of Arizona.
