Survivors include one son, Jerry Dale (Vanessa) Elam of West Liberty, Kentucky, four daughters, Sharon (Jimmy) Estep of Ashland, Kentucky, Kathy (Jerry) Borders of Salyersville, Kentucky, Tammy (John) Messer of Paintsville, Kentucky and Lisa (Patrick) Swanson of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Karla Borders McCarty, Jerrica Elam Dalton, Andrea Elam, Amy Elam Wright, Jamie Messer, Jeremy Messer and Jasmine Parsons and 10 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include, one brother, Eugene Hensley of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and two sisters, Mabel Pack of Dayton, Ohio and Dorothy Mullins of Bradenton, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rosa Montgomery Hensley, one son Terry Michael Elam, who passed away 39 years ago, one grandson, James Aubrey Estep who passed 12 years ago, and her former husband of 38 years, Jimmie Carlos Elam.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 am Saturday, March 26, 2016 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Kennard Cemetery at Rockhouse Creek Road, West Liberty, Kentucky.
