Howard was a member of the board of arbitration for the New York Stock Exchange. He was a former partner of the J.A. Hogel & Co. brokerage firm. He later became a broker with Shearson Lehman, retiring in 1984.
In addition to son Ken, he leaves his wife of 51 years, Martha Carey; another son, Donald, who works as an actor and stage manager; and daughter-in-law.
A memorial service was held May 20 in Manhasset.
