Preceded in death by her parents, Stephen L. and Mary Bishop Cliborne
Harriet Cliborne Cole, 68, of Colonial Heights, owner of Harriet's Hair Magic, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Medical College of Virginia. Born on June 4, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Stephen L. and Mary Bishop Cliborne and was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Cliborne; and two sisters, Helen C. Elder and Mary Ann Jones. Mrs. Cole was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church. She worked as a hairstylist for 48 years, where she had a tremendous amount of love for all of the girls she worked alongside of.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edward J. Cole; sons, Ricky D. Cole and Mickey D. Cole of Colonial Heights; sister, Faye Perry of Chesterfield; daughter-in-law, Lydia Buffo; grandchildren, Casta Childress and husband, John, and Crista Cole of Chesterfield; four great-grandchildren, Zane, Tate, Casen, and Mattéa Childress; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Ettrick United Methodist Church, 21302 Chesterfield Ave, South Chesterfield, VA 23803, with the Reverend Bob Lamb officiating. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. in Butterwood Cemetery, 2411 Darvills Road, Blackstone, VA 23824. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Flowers are welcome, or contributions may be made to Ettrick United Methodist Church. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
