Carmel was the son of Franklin Tucker Shy and Sarah Olivia (Harrison) Shy.
Carmel Franklin Shy's mother Sarah died when he was just a few months old and then his father died just 7 years later. As a result Carmel was raised by his Aunt Clarona (Shy) Lunsford and her husband, Gordon Lunsford (my Great Grandparents.)
His paternal Grandparents were; Edward Franklin Shy and Abigail (Harrison) Shy
His maternal grandparents were; William Harrison (of TN) and Sarah Virginia 'Jennie" (Holdroyd) Harrison.
Carmel married Phoebe Virginia 'Jennie' (Sifford) Shy. They had 4 sons and 1 daughter.
Just as a note;
There was NO RELATION between his paternal Harrison lineage and his maternal Harrison Lineage for at least 3+ generations back.
