James Cummins, 70, of Danville, passed away Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was born in Elizabethtown, Ky on September 24, 1945 to the late Milton and Mary Drury Cummins. He was widowed by his loving wife, Minnie Frances Dawson Cummins.He is survived by his son, Ricky Dawson of Danville; a granddaughter, Akasha Dawson of Pennsylvania; two brothers: Ernest Cummins (Gladys) of Elizabethtown and Roger Cummins (Beth) of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.Along with his wife and parents, James is preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Cummins.Funeral services are 2PM Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Preston Pruitt Spurlin Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Orcutt officiating. Burial in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11AM until time of service.Pallbearers are Russell Towles, Davey Graham, Troy Branston, and Scott Thompson.
