James Gary Deskins Sr., 62, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at Highland Park Hospital. He was born March 28, 1951 in Belfry, Kentucky the son of Snow and Gracie Williams Deskins. He had been a resident of Elgin for the past 49 years and was employed by METRA as a Trackman. Surviving are his 2 children, James Gary (Kim) Deskins Jr. of Kingston, Il., and Sara Deskins (Chan Walker) of Los Angeles, CA., 3 grandchildren, Dalton, Cory and Kendra, 4 sisters, Etta (James) Varney, Millie Varney, Elsie (Ted) Francis and Janice (Bill) Eversole, 3 brothers, Charles, Larce and Tunie Deskins and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Deskins. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 23 at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
