Helen M. Wieland Helen M. Wieland, a resident of Cheltenham for more than 50 years and formerly a 37-year resident of Kentucky, died June 22, 2010, at her Wyncote residence. She was 89. Born July 6, 1920, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Marie K. (Foerster) Wieland.

Miss Wieland was a missionary for Cross Roads Bible Church in Huntingdon Valley. After graduating from Philadelphia Biblical University in 1945, she went to northeast Kentucky as a church planter for Faith Mountain Mission, serving from 1945 to 1982.

While there she taught Bible Club in Magoffin County schools, Sunday school at Bethel Bible Church in Hendricks, Ky., did home visitations and was a staff member at Camp Lewis in Guage, Ky.

After retiring in 1982, she returned to the Philadelphia area and started serving at Cross Roads Bible Church, formerly Bethel Chapel, where she was a member since 1940. She loved gardening and nature. She is survived by a sister, Irma M. Dager of Wyncote; three nephews, Stephen Dager (Jacqueline) of Cape Cod, Mass., Brian Dager (Lorna) of Wyncote, and Jonathan Dager (Holly) of Reading; and a cousin, Rose Scimanico of Florida.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. July 6 at Cross Roads Bible church, 855 Old Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Cross Roads Bible Church Missionary Fund at the above address.
