i rescued tigger from an animal shelter, in oct. 2000. for my sons. they had been begging for a little kitten. tigger was a little orange and white fur ball. my two sons would fight who was going to hold him.tigger got carried around like he was an infant.tigger would always be in the bath tub drinking water, and if the shower doors were closed he would bang on them intill you opened them.he loved to kneed on you , as if he was nursing from his mommy.he would go after the dogs, they were scared of tigger.i got tiggers name, from a tiger i saw on tv, who had suffered from being declawed, but still managed to enjoy life. so tigger roo it was.within the last week tigger had been just lying around, i never seen him leave my son shawns room, so i feed him some chicken, and he ate like a little piggy, so i thought maybe, he just isnt feeling great. but today when i came home and saw tigger in the same spot, i knew i had to bring him to the vet.he never even cried in the car, he usually screams, but i wasnt ready for what i was about to hear.first, he was weighted, down to 6 1/2 lbs., i think he was around 14 lbs, before. then the vet looked at his ears, eyes, and gums, and said, tigger has liver failure, because these ares were yellow. my heart sank. then she felt tiggers stomach and she said there is a large mass. i was devestated.the vet said he would eventually starve to death, or his heart would just stop.all the while tigger was purring, and rubbing up against me.i had to sign the papers to put tigger to sleep, i could not stay, i saved his life in 2000, i wasnt going to watch it slip away now.my heart is broken, iam physically ill.it happened so fast, i still dont think its real. i love ya tigger roo.
