Gregory J. Allen, 54, of Bloomfield, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29 at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1951, in Daviess County, to Robert Allen and Mary Margaret DeVault Allen.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a former estimator at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee.
He was married on June 23, 1997, to Sandra K. Todd Allen, who survives.
Other survivors include: step-mother, Dorothy Nolan Allen of Loogootee; two sons, Jesse Allen and Robert Allen, both of Loogootee; one stepson, Jeff Strunk of Bedford; two daughters, Rebecca Allen and Sara Allen, both of Loogootee; two stepdaughters, Tina Nolley of Loogootee and Jennifer Hoggatt of Bloomfield; three brothers, Mark Allen of Columbus, Bobby Allen of Indianapolis and Steve Allen of Greenwood; three stepbrothers, Jim Nolan of Loogootee, Gary Nolan of Converse and Larry Nolan of Sellersburg; and eight grandchildren, Conner Hedrick, Katlin Allen, Allison McLaughlin, Adrianne Carr, Gabe Nolley, Jordon Hoggatt, J.D. Hoggatt and Josh McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Jo Bradley and Mary Loranne Wollard; one stepbrother, Chuck Nolan; and one niece, Lindsay Allen.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial with military graveside rites by the VFW and American Legion will follow in Owensburg Community Cemetery.
