Gregory Thomas Mullen
Gregory Thomas Mullen, 66, of Elgin Illinois passed away August 22, 2016 at St Joseph Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Elgin, IL on October 25, 1949 and was the son of James T. and Mary E. (Morley) Mullen. Greg attended Lincoln School, Ellis Junior High School, and was a 1967 graduate of Elgin High School and a 1976 graduate of the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse. During his life he worked at Pheasant Run Dinner Theatre, the Elgin City Services Department, and Custom Aluminum Products. His great love was theater, having performed in many productions at the Hemmens in Elgin. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Mullen (Raymond) Cross of San Antonio Texas and Kathleen Mullen (Marvin) Schneider of Albuquerque, New Mexico, his sister-in-law Joanne McGowan (Michael Mullen) of Evanston, his aunt, Trudy Lindenmann Morley of Ellsworth Maine, eight nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael A. Mullen and his parents. The family would like to give special thanks to Greg’s cousins Peggy O’connor, Barbara Morley Thorssen and Daniel Rich for their kindness during Greg’s illness. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be private at Lakewood Memorial Park.
