Bobby James Christner was born February 10, 1955 in Iowa City, IA to Benjamin and Ella Mae (Pool) Christner. His early years were often spent on his grandparent’s farm near Fairfield, IA where he also attended school. Bobby worked several jobs early in life as well as attending Indian Hills in their Automotive Collision Technician Program. He served in the United States Army until his Honorable Discharge in August of 1974. Bobby began working at Airgas in Fairfield, IA as a delivery driver which is where he remained as a dedicated employee until his retirement in 2005. In 2002 Bobby was united in marriage to his best friend, Carla Hemm at a church in Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. He cherished the moments they had together, and enjoyed their camping trips to Branson and the State Fair. Bobby was a simple, uncomplicated man who wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. His focus was on God and his family. Bobby was a loving father to five children, and proud PaPa to his grandchildren whom he spent as much time with as the day would allow. He had a passion for horses, and enjoyed spending time working with his hands in his shop. He looked forward to morning coffee and fellowship at the church with his friends. He was a devoted member of the Eldon Assembly of God Church where he taught Bible Study. Bobby was a loving husband, father, PaPa, and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
