Fifth child and fourth son of Dick and Nancy (Fisher) Carey. As a young boy, he attended Valley school across the road from his home. Later, he attended Wyandotte Indian School with his younger brothers. After he finished school, he spent time in the US military.
Reed was extremely talented in music and art. He also was a good athlete and played baseball on the local men's team.
Cause of death: Shot in a dispute and later died from his injuries.
