Callie Frances Hicks McGaha, a resident of Cleveland, passed away at her home on Nov. 2, 2016. She was a charter member of Burls Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Sweetwater. She served as Sunday school teacher and led the choir in singing. While in Cleveland, she attended Philippi Baptist Church and Stuart Park Baptist Church. Frances was employed many years with Carolyn Chenille in Sweetwater. After moving to Cleveland, she was employed at Hardwick Clothes and retired from American Uniform.

She enjoyed reading her Bible and could recite many scriptures from memory. She was an avid flower gardener. She had a vegetable garden, loved seeing it grow as well as extra food for others.

Frances was the daughter of the late Elige Newton and Mae Belle Wiseman Hicks. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Vaden Henry McGaha; son-in-law, Mack Arthur Williams; brothers and sisters, Clarence Hicks, Lee Hicks, Wesley Hicks, Robert Hicks, Ben Hicks, Girtha Hicks Parris, Catherine Hicks Russell and Naomi Hicks.

Survivors include: her children, Shirley McGaha Williams of Sweetwater, James (Doris) McGaha of Knoxville, Glen McGaha of Cleveland, Elizabeth Joyce McGaha (Paul) Lunsford of Cleveland;

Grandchildren, Marilyn Williams Ditmore, Kevin Williams, Shannon Williams (Ronald) Noe, Michelle McGaha Barber, Brian McGaha, Melissa Lunsford (Edward) Weaver, Julie Lunsford Presswood and Cristie Lunsford (Jeremy) Kanipes;

Great-grandchildren, Amber Ditmore, Matt Williams, Joshua (Devin) Barber, Andrew Weaver, Aaron Weaver, Jacob Presswood, Logan Kanipes, and Ethan Kanipes;

Great-great-grandchildren, Brayden Bivens and Brayden Barber;

Brothers and sisters, James (Margaret) Hicks, Lowell (Rosie) Hicks, Beatrice Presley Haddock.

The family received friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home in Cleveland. The funeral followed at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with Reverend Daniel Malone officiating. The funeral procession left from Cleveland to Sweetwater with a graveside service at Sweetwater Memorial Park.
