Delores Jean Carrender, age 74, of Science Hill, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Delores was born on May 30, 1942 to the late Joe Clark Burton and Beatrice Denham Burton. Delores is a member of McKinney Baptist Church, and is a retired school teacher. She taught for 30 years at Meece Middle School and retired in 1996.
She is survived by her son, Charles Alan Carrender of Science Hill, KY; a brother, Lawrence Burton of Lexington, KY; two sisters, Margie (and Harvey) Brumfield of Garrard County, KY, and Doris Hail of Somerset, KY.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Carrender, whom she married in 1961 in Somerset, and preceded her on February 3, 2007; and a brother, Howard Burton.
Her visitation will be on Monday, November 28, 2016 after 5:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Carr officiating. Burial will be in the Science Hill Cemetery
