Edward Thomas Maszalec age 82, of Fort Meyers, Florida, passed away on Monday December 26th, 2016. He was born in Jersey City, NJ to Thomas and Helen (nee Holmes)Maszalec.

Ed served in the United States Army. He had been retired from Becton Dickinson Company as the Customer Service Manager.

He is survived by his sister of Rutherford.

Ed was my third cousin, once removed. I know this because one day, he showed up at my house with our family tree. I didn't even know who he was or how we were related. He shared with me so much information and stories about his research. He really didn't know back then the impact he would have on so many lives of his distant cousins and even his great great grandparents. Ed is responsible for so many of my memorials. It was an honor to create this one for him. I just wish in some way he knows how important he was to his distant cousins. Because of him, I became a interested in genealogy.

Funeral Mass of Christian Liturgy was held 9:30am on Thursday January 5, 2017 in the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Avenue, Rutherford, NJ followed by an Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ.

RIP Ed, you will be missed.
