A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Rankin Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Scronce and Rev. Jim Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Ronnie was born on October 22, 1939 to Peter “Jud” Judson Hersley Watkins and Sallie Lou Harris Watkins.
Ronnie retired from Cone Mills after nearly 50 years of employment as a machinist. He was an active member of The American Legion and a member of Rankin Baptist Church.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children, Randy Watkins of Greensboro, Jeff Watkins and his wife Tamera of Randleman and Michelle Watkins of Reidsville and June Willard, special friend whom has faithfully been by his side throughout his illness; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Muhammed Muhammed and staff of Moses Cone Cancer Center, Blumenthal Nursing Home and Beacon Place for their outstanding care over the last year and a half.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 P.M. at the church prior to the service.
