Mollie Jane Thornburg was the daughter of Oliver Benton Thornburg, and Mary Sabrina Hostetler. She was born January 21, 1889 in Scott County, Kansas. On August 19, 1905 she married Myron Ferdinand Diamond in La Porte County, Indiana. Together they had 5 children, Kenneth, Floyd, Mary, Ethel, and Charles. At the age of 33 her husband contracted a pneumonia and passed away on November 11, 1917 leaving Mollie a widow with 4 living children all under the age of 18. She then married Alonzo “Lon” Chaney on April 15, 1920 in Walkerton, St. Joseph County, Indiana. Together they had one child Frank. Mollie and Lon separated November 29, 1934. She then filed for divorce in July of 1935. In her later years she moved to Niles Michigan where she was featured in the newspaper multiple times. She loved baking and always baked cookies for the local police department. Mollie passed away in Niles on April 18, 1978 at the age of 89.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Oliver and Mary, her husband Myron, ex husband Lon, son Kenneth, and siblings Franklin, Walter, Charles, George, and Lizzie. Surviving her are her children, sister Flossie, and brothers Bryant, and Homer.
