Anton Lofthus 1902-1989

Anton Sam Lofthus, 86, passed away at the Clearwater Memorial Hospital in Bagley on Saturday, October 21, 1989.
Anton was born in Eddy Township, Clearwater County on December 13, 1902 to parents Lars and Anna Lofthus. He was a life time resident of Eddy Township. He farmed, shirred sheep, trapped and enjoyed farm work and helping his neighbors. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Eddy Township. His marriage to Hulda Sather took place in Clearbrook on June 3, 1930.
He is survived by his wife Hilda; two sons, Rodney of Leonard, Harlan of Junction City, Kansas; one brother, Elmer of Bagley; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Anton was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 1989 at 2 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church of Eddy. Rev. Bob Paulson will officiate and burial will be made in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley.
Active casketbearers will be Gary Thorson, Dale Thorson, Bob Garland, Gerald Thorson, LaVerne Halvorson; Wayne Watkins.
Honorary casketbearers will be Conrad Lorents, Thor Thorson, Alfred Magnuson and Marvin Snobeck.
