Nick Schechinger, Sr Family

Nick Schechinger and Kathryn (Heller) Schechinger were the parents of eight children: Urban (1917-1956); Marita (1919), married Vince Sonderman; WIllard (1921); Nicholas Jr (1925); Damian (1923-1927); Catherine (1928), married Edward Rosenthal; Carmilita (1932-1979), married Edward Heese; Gemma (1932-1979), married Harold Sonderman.

Nick and Kate Schechinger moved to Portsmouth in 1925 to the farm owned by her parents, William and Mary Heller. This farm is several blocks west of the Catholic Church. Nick passed away in 1963. Kate continued to make her home on the farm until her death in 1968.
