Donald L. Stroh, 87, of Oakford died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at his residence.

He was born July 20, 1912 in Hettick, the son of Clarence E. and Cora Dawson Stroh. He married Roberta Anderson in 1939 in Nashua, Iowa.

Mr. Stroh taught school in Oakford from 1933-1935. He then operated Stroh Oil Phillips 66 Station and Bulk Plant from 1935-1990; Stroh Oil LP Gas; Stroh-Anderson Ready Mix and the New Salem Coca-Cola Bottling Co.

He was a member of Oakford United Methodist Church, charter member of the board of directors of National Bank of Petersburg, charter member of Lake Association of Lake Petersburg, a member of the Menard County Fair board, a member of Clinton Lodge 19 AF&AM, Petersburg, Menard County Housing board and the Sunny Acres Home board.

Surviving are his wife, Roberta; two daughters, Brenda (Tom) Vost and Sandra (Robert S.) Newman; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Faye Taylor and Eileen Bell.

Donald L. Stroh, 87, of Oakford died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at his residence.
