Betty was born on October 5, 1933, in Peoria, to John and Lina (McGovern) Maroney. She married Billy H. Pollard on August 9, 1952 in Corinth, Mississippi.
Surviving are her husband, Billy; her children, Randy (Karen) Pollard of Germantown Hills, IL, William "Bill" Pollard and John (Debi) Pollard of Peoria, IL; her daughter-in-law, Rozan Pollard of Eureka, IL; 11 grandchildren, Anita Bennett, Jessica Collins, Brandon Painter, Rachel Espinosa, Bradley (Heidi) Pollard, Timothy Pollard, Amy Pollard, Katie Pollard, Adam Pollard, Seth Pollard and Kaitlyn Pollard and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Painter; her parents; one sister and two brothers.
Betty was a loving wife and mother. She was a Matron for the Peoria County Jail and worked security for Bradley University and for the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport. Betty also worked for the Gift Avenue Juvenile Detention Center and was a crossing guard for District 150.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:30am at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm also at The Wilton Mortuary as well as one Wednesday, June 28, 2017 beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Rev. Roger Lipe of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin will be officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church.
