Susan Feryo Holub died peacefully Sunday morning February 25, 2007, at the age of 96.

Born in Gary, Indiana, in September of 1910, Susan Feryo Holub was the daughter of Josef and Mary Feryo. Susan and her family moved back to the family property in then eastern Czechoslovakia (Slovakia) during her first year, after the death of her twin brother. She left Europe to come to New York City in 1934 where her husband John and her daughter, Mary joined her in 1935, and the family moved to New Jersey shortly thereafter.

Susan Holub lived in Carteret, New Jersey for over 55 years where she and her husband, John, operated retail liquor businesses in Carteret and Perth Amboy, New Jersey. After her husband died, she sold the business and became a valued employee of Macy's of Menlo Park for 19 years. She was active in her church, St. Elias Byzantine Rite Catholic Church of Carteret, for over 50 years. She retired to Charlottesville to be near her son's family in 1991. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church locally.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1972; and her daughter, Mary Holub Ondrejcak; and her husband, Emil, of Clearwater, Florida in 2003.

Mrs. Holub is survived by her son, Robert J. Holub and his wife, Virginia McConnell Holub, of Charlottesville; and two grandchildren, Anne S. Holub of Chicago, and Robert J Holub, of Charlottesville.

She is also survived by her daughter Mary's children, Susan Ondrejcak, and also Donald E. Ondrejcak and his wife, Martha, and great - grandson Donald Jr., all of Clearwater, Florida. Also surviving Mrs. Holub's death, is a cousin, Mrs. Anna Cervenak of Rahway, New Jersey.

A memorial service will be conducted 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Teague Funeral Home Chapel with Father Dominic Langevin, O.P. officiating. Interment will be private.
