DAVENPORT -- Services for Victor Belger, of Davenport, formerly of Iowa City, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Iowa City. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Iowa City. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, with a vigil at 5 p.m. and a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Belger died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Phoenix, after a brief illness. He retired in 1982 as Iowa City assessor for more than 34 years. He was born March 9, 1917, in Iowa City. He married Betty Fitzpatrick in 1940. She died in 1986. During World War II, he served in the Army. Memorials may be made to Regina Foundation. Survivors include daughters, Linda McDonald, Iowa City, and Diane O'Rourke, Davenport; sons, Victor, Creston, Iowa, and Gary, Apopka, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Mervin, Iowa City.
