Born Feb. 26, 1924, in Sugarcreek, Ohio to the late Albert and Iva Yoder, Irene Chupp Troyer, 92, died Aug. 10, 2016.

Irene grew up on a farm west of Sugarcreek with her four brothers and three sisters and graduated from Berlin High School in 1942. On Oct. 10, 1944, she married Daniel J. Chupp, who died in a motorcycle accident on March 31, 1977. Irene then married Levi Troyer on Aug. 8, 1980, and made her home in Berlin until 2001, when she moved to Smithville. Levi died in 2002.

Irene was a lifelong member of the Mennonite Church and was active in Berlin and Smithville Mennonite Churches. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, needlework and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors and playing her fiddle.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are four sons and their wives; three daughters and their husbands; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; as well as stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Louella Yoder; and a brother, Paul Yoder.

Services will be at Smithville Mennonite Church, with interment will be in Smithville Mennonite Church Cemetery.
