Meredith, Billy Jack On February 19, 2013, Billy Jack Meredith of Mount Vernon, Texas lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 80. Upon graduating from Mount Vernon High School he attended Texas Christian University on a football scholarship and earned a degree in Business Management. After three years in the United States Air Force and reaching the rank of First Lieutenant, he enjoyed a very successful sales career. His greatest success and most enjoyed professional accomplishment was leading an outstanding group of individuals at Docutel Corporation. Docutel was Jack's passion and this passion is where he earned the admiration and respect of countless colleagues turning many of them into friends with his sense of humor and uncanny wit. He enjoyed a round of golf with friends, traveling with his lovely wife Joy, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a unique and irreplaceable person that will be dearly missed by his surviving family: wife Joy; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Lisa Meredith, daughter Mindy Walls, son Jim Meredith; grandchildren Jeffrey, Jenna, Josh, Christy, MacKenzie, Jake, Samantha and Jack; nephew and nieces Mary Donna, Michael and Heather; sister-in-law Susan Meredith. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Hazel and his brother Don. The entire Meredith family would like to express their deepest thanks to The Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas for their amazing care in his final years. There will be a memorial service celebrating Jack's life at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at University Park United Methodist Church, 4024 Caruth Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75225.
