Salem, Oregon - Joyce M. Coonrod, 81, of Dallas died December 2, 2017 in Salem.
She was born February 4, 1936 in Tillamook County, Oregon to George and Agnes (Long) Peterson. She grew up and attended school in the Tillamook area.
She married John D. Coonrod on November 13, 1953, in Polk Co, Oregon. They lived in Dallas, Oregon for many years raising their family.
She loved the coast. She researched family genealogy for many years. She enjoyed arts and crafts, including making plush animals, quilts and Christmas yard decorations with John.
She is preceded in death by her parents and then by her husband in 2015.
She is survived by her children, two sons, Ray of Salem and Greg of Dallas; two daughters, Tracey Jones of Portland and Dinah Johnson of Salem; brother George (Buzzy) Peterson of California; and sister Karen Clark of Oregon. She is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life later this spring.
