Published in the Daily Times, New Philadelphia, Ohio, Monday, May 29, 1933, p8: "SUGARCREEK WOMAN DIES--Mrs Catherine Hostetler, 76, widow of W B Hostetler, died at 11 am yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs H E Richardson in Sugarcreek following three weeks illness with a complication of diseases. ,She was born in Sugarcreek township, where she had lived all her life, the daughter of Isaac and Anna Miller.
In 1876 she married W B Hostetler who died two years ago. Surviving are one son, Homer; one daughter, Mrs H E Richardson; and two brothers, Moses and Abner Miller, both of Sugarcreek. She was a member of the Mennonite church at Sugarcreek.
Short services at the residence at 1:30 pm Wednesday will be followed by services at the Union church in Sugarcreek at 2 pm with Rev Lester Hostetler, Rev G E Smith and Rev Edward Shepfer officiating. Burial in charge of J W Geckler & Son, Sugarcreek undertakers will be made in the Union church cemetery."
