Vera Lou Taylor, 79, of Sissonville, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2018 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

She was a member of Union Valley Gospel Tabernacle.

Vera was born in Charleston on April 28, 1938, to the late Edgar Marion Burdette and Leatha Emily McMillion Burdette. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Taylor and brother, Steve Burdette.

Vera was a kind hearted, sweet, generous and loving individual who always put other’s needs before her own. She was loved by all that knew her.

Vera is survived by her brother, Cleon Burdette of Sissonville; sons, Tim Taylor (Karen), Mike Taylor (Teresa), and David Taylor all of Sissonville; daughters, Vonda Thaxton (Tim), Angie Tyler (Mike) both of Sissonville and Trina Young of Angier, NC; grandchildren, Candace Taylor (Jeff), Courtney Taylor, Buddy Young III, Nicholas Taylor, Cody Jones, Cory Jones, Brittney Young, Emily Taylor and Sam McClanahan; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Blake, Austin, Kenzie, Alex, Braxton, Jordan and Wyatt.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 1 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Robert Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Boyd-Burdette Cemetery, Charleston.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
