COPENHAGEN—Geraldine M. Scott, 88, formerly of 32224 NYS Route 12 and 518 Pine Street in Watertown, died on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where she has been a resident since 2012.

She was born on May 18, 1929 in Watertown, New York a daughter of the late Edwards & Grace Beckwith Brooks. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1946.

In her earlier years, she worked for the Watertown Daily Times and during the holiday time she worked for Empsalls.

On July 6th, 1946 Geraldine Mae Brooks married Albert E. Scott at the Grace Episcopal Church in Copenhagen. Together they operated the family dairy farm on Route 12. Her husband was also employed as a school bus driver for the Copenhagen District and was a rural mail carrier.

They both were life members of the Grace Episcopal Church, Copenhagen and 4-H leaders. She loved her gardening, crocheting, knitting, and cooking, especially her homemade donuts. She enjoyed walking daily and watching Jeopardy.

Mrs. Scott is survived by several children, a son and his wife, Mark & Kathy Scott, Rodman; Kevin Scott, Denver, Colorado; Dennis Scott, Oregon; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Brooks of California; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Albert in 2008, a son, Thomas Scott and a sister in law, Marjorie Hubbard and two brothers, Louis & Richard Brooks.

Calling hours will be held at on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 3-5 PM at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 500 State Street, Carthage. A Funeral Service immediately follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 5:00pm with the Rev. Edward Murphy officiating.
