Miss Hattie M. Abbott, Word was received by Mr &Mrs. F.W. Main today, announcing the death last night at Asheville, N. C., of Miss Hattie M, Abbott, formerly of Jackson. Her mother, Mrs. W. N. Woodsum, who is with her, will bring the body of her daughter to Jackson for burial. Miss Abbott has been a long and patient sufferer, but when the angel of death summoned her, he struck numb many to whom this noble woman is near and dear. Miss Abbott was reared in Jackson, her step-father being the late W.N. Woodsum, the well known shoe manufacturer and merchant, of a generation ago. There was a delightful atmosphere of sincerity and nobility about Miss Abbott that left its impress upon all who knew her. Her death, no matter how well we realized its inevitable nearness, is none the less a crushing blow to all who knew the rare charm of her personality and friendship.
