Myrna Deloris Cawyer, 80, of Quapaw, OK formally of Picher, OK passed from this life on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Eastwood Manor, Commerce, OK.
Myrna was born on January 30, 1938 in Picher, OK to the union of George and Edna (Ross) Walker.
Myrna was a long-time resident of Picher, OK, before moving to Quapaw after the 2008 tornado. Myrna graduated from Picher High School in 1957. Myrna worked at Northeast Community Action Agency as a social worker for Picher Head Start, before taking the role as their cook retiring in 2009. Myrna was a member of the Cardin Christian Church.
Myrna enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening in her younger years. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Myrna was united in marriage to Harold Lloyd Cawyer on May 24, 1958 in Picher, OK. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2014.
Additional family that preceded Myrna in death are her parents, George and Edna Walker; sister, Ida Rose Hathaway; two brothers, Donald and Ronald Walker; son-in-law, Donald Renick.
Myrna is survived by one son; Brov Cawyer and wife Robin of Quapaw, OK; three daughters, Kathi Cawyer of Quapaw, OK, Karin (Cawyer) Renick of Quapaw, OK, and Kristin (Cawyer) Young of Miami, OK; six grandchildren, Brent Young and wife Christa, Dillon Young, Kable Cawyer-Garcia and husband Caleb, Connell Cawyer, Amanda Renick, and Madison Renick; six great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, OK. Danny Garner will officiate the services.
Friends may call upon the family at the home, 211 Melba St. Quapaw, OK.
