Eddie was a very kind, loving person. He loved to hunt, fish and work on cars. He was the son of Edward B. and Dorothy Mae Neal Rogers. Originally from Greenbrier County, Eddie lived in Grant and Tucker counties. He worked for Advantage Foods in Petersburg, WV until the company was bought by Perdue. He continued there until his death. Eddie also worked with different logging companies. He was the father of one son and one daughter.
Ed made friends easily and was adored by everyone that knew him. Working on cars was his passion, He helped his best friend restore a 1969 Dodge Charger. It is now dedicated to his memory.(see photo)
Eddie loved country music, his favorite artists were George Jones,Hank Williams,Jr., Ronnie Milsap, Merle Haggard,Waylon Jennings, Blackhawk and of course his girls, Terri Clark and Shania Twain.
When it came to sports, Eddie's favorites were football and basketball. He loved the 49ers and Browns. He also liked NASCAR, Mark Martin was his favorite driver.
Eddie's 15 year old son was tragically killed in a CSX train derailment in January 2000. He was never the same after that. Six weeks later his grandmother passed. Then in August 2001 his closest brother died tragically. Exactly three months later, Eddie was laid to rest beside his brother. He died of a heart attack at the age of 44. At least he was doing something he loved, deer hunting. As hard as it was to let go, Eddie left tons of beautiful memories. Anyone would be proud to call him "friend".

Those we love remain with us
For love lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one's gone...
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
For as long as there is memory,
They'll live on in the heart.

The seed of love you planted will never disappear,
Even though your precious smile is no longer here.
You're there in every passing thought and heartfelt memory...
a blossom that will never fade upon our family tree.

TO THOSE I LOVE
When I am gone, just release me,
let me go-so I can move into my afterglow.
You mustn't tie me down with your tears,
let's be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
how much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
but now it's time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me awhile, if grieve you must,
then let your grief be comforted with trust.
It's only for a while that we must part,
so bless the memories within your heart.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".

If love could have saved you,
you would have lived forever.

We die only when we cease to exist in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved us.

NOTE: Eddie has three grandsons as of 12/2007.
