He was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Millersburg and was the son of Walter and Goldie (Lint) Chaney. On June 13, 1970, he married Maida Pidcoe and she preceded him in death in 2008.
Bob worked 49 years for Rice-Chadwick Rubber Co. in Killbuck, retiring in 1994. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, loved antique cars and sprint car racing and enjoyed collecting clocks, fishing, and playing euchre. Bob was president of Lake Buckhorn for several years and dressed up for the holidays and entertained the kids.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Bob and Sherry Chaney Jr. of Wooster, Sandra Franks of Wooster, Kevin and Marci Chaney of Shreve and Tracy Gallion of Millersburg; seven grandchildren, Craig, Rob, Brad, Desha, Sabrina, Jared and Amber; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Chaney of Millersburg; special friend, Joyce Chenevey; several nieces and nephews; and puppy, Abby.
He was preceded in death by former wife, Doris Domer; brother, Don Chaney; and sister, Norma Jean Hochstetler.
