Galo C. Chew, 77, of Alma died Friday, Sept. 18, 1987 at Gratiot Community Hospital.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Dewey Funeral Home in Alma. The Rev. Charles Grauer of the Alma United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Chapel Garden Cemetery in Elwell.
Mr. Chew was born Feb. 2, 1904 in Michigan. He was the son of Mr. M. K. Chew. He taught 35 years in the Alma School system and resided in Alma 40 years. He married Ellen Cook in June of 1936. She died in 1978. Mr. Chew was a member of the Alma Lions Club and the Alma United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Richard Chew of Lansing; one brother, Milo Chew of Flint; and two sisters, Lola Boss of Charlevoix and Alice Chew of Spring Arbor.
