Audrey Marie Horstmann (nee Ruhmann) was born July 2, 1922 in St. Louis, MO and passed on May 29 at the age of 95 years, ten months and 27 days. She died at her home in Manchester, MO restfully in her sleep early in the morning.
Audrey is survived by both her children Judith Carr (Ron) from Ballwin and her son Dennis Horstmann (Carole) in Texas; her 4 grandchildren Deborah Carr and Michelle Ventimiglia of St. Louis and Sarah and David Horstmann of Texas; and one grandchild Erika Carr of St. Louis.
Her parents Arnold and Edna (nee Grottendick) preceded her in death as did her brother Stanley Ruhmann and sister-in-law Eleanore from Oklahoma. She was married to Ervin R. Horstmann on October 25, 1941 before WWII and he preceded her on Jan 5, 2005.
Mrs. Horstmann is strong in her faith and was a member of St John United Church of Christ for over 60 years. Audrey requested “in true Audrey spirit” that to celebrate her life for everyone not to be sad and to not be so formal in all black but to be colorful in dress to celebrate her joyous life.
