Charles was the son of Raymond and Jean (Hamilton) McCollum. He graduated from Northwestern of Mendon, Mo. After High School he held several jobs, in the community, including being a truck driver, working for KCP&L, and performing masonry work. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Mount Zion Church in Indian Grove, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, brother, Randy McCollum, and great niece Hailey Joe McCollum.
He is survived by his father, two children, Beth McCollum and fiance, Jimmy Hendren, and Brian McCollum and his fiancee, Crista Johnson., his step-son Joey Martin and Stacey Snodrass, eight siblings, Richard (Sue( McCollum, Kenney McCollum, Dell a (Randy) Wolfe, Judy (David) Lentz, Mark (Phyllis) McCollum, Kerry (Teresa) McCollum, /sherry (Denise(McCollum , and Mike McCollum, fifteen grandchildren, also he is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews,
