John L. Bryant, 66, of Portsmouth Rt. 5, died at 12:28 a.m. Sunday in Portsmouth General Hospital, where he had been a patient three days.
Born Feb. 8, 1890, in Carter County, Ky., Mr. Bryant was a son of Joseph and Ellen Tackett Bryant. He was a press operator for Harbison-Walker Refractories Co.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Brickey Bryant, whom he married in December 1947, and a sister, Mrs. Nan Smith of Olive Hill, Ky.
MR. Bryant was preceded by his parents and two brothers.
Rev. Ogra Creech and Rev. Homer Henson will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rehoboth Mission in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at Windel-Howland Funeral Home.
