Born in Hartselle, AL the first son of Louis Hoffman Houston (1890-1968) of Limestone County and Letha Ashcroft Holt Houston (1897-1982) of Fayette County, Alabama.
Paternal Grandparents: Dr. John Swan Houston of Lawrence County (1851-1899) and Flora Lillian Lucas Houston (1897-1982) of Limestone County, Alabama.
Maternal Grandparents: Joel Curtis Ashcraft and Zelda Ann Parker Ashcraft of Fayette County, Alabama.
Married to Christine who preceded him in death (1919-2001).
Survived by his sons Robert and John, daughter-in-law Lorie and granddaughter Isabelle.
Bill was Methodist, member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He attended Mountain Brook Baptist Church for many years.
He served his country in the US Navy, graduated from The University of Alabama, and retired from the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development.
Visitation will be Friday June 15 at 10 to 11 AM followed by a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens,1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham AL 35235, 205-655-2536 In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to The American Cancer Society.
